The Witches meetings at Häxeholm

Witch meeting 15.10.2005

Fourth witch meeting 15. October 2005
All witches were joining and all on time (more or less)

After a short time of chatting about food (again), we got to business

“You have no power over me” 3/5 of the witches got very nostalgic and wished themselves back to The Labyrinth and David Bowie in very tight tights. The outcome was clear – the castle needs a labyrinth. (Authors note: I would like trees or something instead of those dark walls in the movie)

Anduines pictures of the gardens of the Castle is up to discussion. Because of limited space on the HP it is decided only to show a part of the garden: The bridge and the shadowy.

It is further discussed if it is possible to find a website with more space. Jane will check places and prices.

Gudalo drops by to give a short language lesson in Serbian. Now we all know that gudalo means bow – you never know when that knowledge could come in handy.

To stay with the language Mys promise to post her French report about Apocalyptica on the HP in both the French version (with all the corrections of the teacher) and an English version.

Mys is done making a city map of Hell-sink-in. Amazing job. The good observers noticed the small Schnappi Street .

Katariina introduces the Castle Ghost. A love/tragedy story. The idea of a ghost gets the ideas coming fast: An old witch from the times when the castle was build she died from: hands of evil, tragedy, unfulfilled love, Melkors interference… We ended up with having two ghosts on the castle. Katariinas and the old witch, Melusine, who fell in love with Melkor in shape of a handsome man who trick her. Now she is protecting the castle from Melkor and helping the witches.

The castle is named Häxeholm (häx meaning witch in Swedish), and the area around the castle is Bloksbjerg (the spelling varies from language to language, and the author makes the decision).

Except for the fact that all evil is banished form Apoland, it is agreed to have a big one-eyed creature in Fisheye Lake . The name shall be either Cyclops (in finnish) or Cyprius.

CaNNon joins the conversation and Hex hex hex…he turns out to be a pink bunny with blue ears hiding in the chicken ranch.
To stay with the spells. The Apple-spell worked, Jane managed to keep a guy quiet for 30 min jusing that. Mys is writing the story, and will post it one day.

A stage of total confusion is started by Anduine, and the other witches get a sudden urge to paint rainbows try ing to gain knowledge about “pit stops” and Perttus hair – the meaning was never revealed.

The wedding of all times is up for discussion. Let the planning begin.
To start with Anduine promise that Cyan will do whatever he is told (Authors note: Sounds like a promising relationship).
The ceremony will be held in the SAN-Forest and the dinner will be at Häxeholm. The honeymoon plans got disturbed by Hevetti, who wanted to know everybody's age. Katariina and Anduine held hard on a woman's right to keep silent. But birthdays were revealed to the HP calendar (coming up one day):
sans, 7 June (1989)
Mys, 23 April (1989)
Anduine, 6 February
Katariina, 2 October
Cyan, 22 April (1987) (his mother was still a little depressed about all the talking about age, that she first confused her son with her best friend, leading Mys to start planning her next birthday together with Cyan)
Jane, 25 July (1979) (Authors note: And I have always been teased with my attraction to older men…)

German grammar on the board. We learn how to inflect “doing magic” (unfortunately it didn't stick to the brain).

Honeymoon plans reopened: After several suggestions the honeymoon is decided to be on a boat in Bay of Farewell , and will last until there are no more cods. This leads to a suggestion of a new sig: Nienna the coddess, and to ideas for a new banner:

Save the cod!
It is predicted that Perttu will be falling off stage in the attempt of try ing to unravel the meaning of the banner. Despite the cruelness in that, one should try it.

Sans' brain get overloaded and a state of squeenisme takes over the chat for a while.

The writing author is falling of the chair of lack of sleep and leaves the squeenies to take care of the world/Apoland situation.

~Jane/Nienna

Not much happened after Jane left, except that Anduine caught sans spell and went hyperventilating over keyboard causing her daughters to worry about her.

She calmed down after listening to her sons composition Farewell. She then declared that she had very gifted sons and daughters leading to a group hug.

There was also a history lesson about a mexican emperor nobody seemed to know about. Still pretty sure that Dreamcatcher and I are right about Maximilian though, even if the Mexican counterpart was of different opinion.

~Anduine

All hail to the Britannica – Anduine has taken a look in her history books to sort out the differences:

Here is the mysterious Mexican Emperor mentioned on the chat

Augustine de Iturbide (1822-23).Mexican caudillo (military chieftain) who became the leader of the conservative faction in the Mexican independence movement and briefly emperor of Mexico . (He crowned himself - no wonder we never heard of him) He proved unable to bring order and stability to his coun try and all parties soon turned against him Opposition solidified behind Santa Anna (we remember that one, doesnt we?) leading to Iturbides exile.
He abdicated and left the coun try . He returned in 1824 unaware that congress had decreed his death. Captured on July 15th he was executed 4 days later. Although regarded by most scholars as self-serving military adventure, he has remained the great hero of Mexican independence (as self crowned emperor?!) for the conservative classes and the church.

And heres the one Dreamcatcher and I were talking about

Maximilian (brother to Franz Josef I of Austria )
In 1863 he accepted an offer of the Mexican throne, falsely believing, that the people had voted for him. (Actually it was a scheme between opposing Mexican parties) Crowned emperor June 10 1864 he intended to rule paternal benevolence. He antagonized the church by refusing to restore fast church holdings confiscated by Juárez. He used his own inherited income for daily expenses as not to touch the state treasury. When French forces withdrew March 1867 Juarez moved back into Mexico City . Maximilian was betrayed into capitulation and executed in June 1867.

Well Maximilian sounds like the better emperor to me, but there again Im not Mexican....
