Forum – a virtual melting pot

The city of Forum is a warm, colourful and mysterious place set into the beautiful landscape of the Reflections-Shire in the eastern south of Apoland. The city can be seen as a melting pot of the cultures and one reason for this phenomenon is a mystique which nobody really understands: In the whole country of Apoland the traveller will find people who are telling about mysterious things that happened to them: they just went sleeping, dreamed about Forum and woke up in the green park of the Inner city of this specific city.
In fact the city seems to be placed on the thin line between reality and virtuality which make it easily reachable for everybody but even the most well-known physicians are biting out their teeth at the enigma of Forum.
It is also very well known for its huge amount of Internet-Cafes which are one of the main meeting places of the Forumers.
Another interesting point is, that the Inner City is constructed onto geometrical forms and unfolds itself like a Mandala. It is said that this concept shall express the symbiotic cohabitation of all the different ethnic groups.

Inner City:

Nearly the whole Inner City is one wide ranged park with a lake in its centre. This so called “Park of Hope” is enclosed by the most representative and typical buildings of all the ethnicities that can be found in Forum.

The park is extensively used for relaxing and sportive activities by its citizens and because of that the whole Inner City is one pedestrian area. It is also the main place for all kinds of different events be that an outdoor-concert of Apolands president and his ministers, Film-festivals (Bollywood, Martial Arts, etc…) or other kinds of installations and events. The children will love the playground to be found in this park. In summer the lake invites for a cool refreshment, boats can be rent and different kind of water sports can be tried out.

In Asian Town you can find lots of restaurants from Turkish to Japanese ones, different kind of shops (for witches, druids and into natural-healing-methods interested I recommend the Chinese herbs-shops where you can find all sort of exotic herbs, mushrooms, etc…). Who wants to calm down and wants to find his inner peace, a visit to the Japanese garden can help a lot. For all Indian-fans I recommend the half yearly happening Bollywood film-festival in the park of Hope.
Film-festivals are generally very common in Forum; there are lots of different film-festivals to all kind of topics.

Also worth to mention is the Oceanian Area (Oceania: notation for a cultural and economical binning of the Islands of the Pacific to a continent. It includes Australia, Polynesia, New Zealand, Malay Archipelago, Melanesia and Micronesia) is very well known for its Wallaby-Park where it is possible to feed eatable mini-boomerangs to them. Didgeridoo-workshops are very common there and I simply need to mention the very-well known Australian Pubs with the famous Foster-beer and the exotic dishes like the very tasty grilled grasshoppers or kangaroo-burgers.

Not to forget the African-area where the living rhythm of this amazing continent can be heard in all streets. Very popular is the so-called Desert-house where all the different types of typical desert fauna can be seen. Typical African food and music you can find here everywhere, also the bazaars with the handicrafts, spices, textiles and more are always an experience for every shopping-fan.

And of course we also have here an American-district. Culture and traditions from Fireland to Alaska can be found here. In here you find the huge ethnology-museum to learn more about all the influences in Forum. There you also can find an international music-university which is mainly focused onto the music and instruments played all over the world. Next to their huge music-instruments collection from all over the world (which can be visited in their intern museum for free) they also own an Octobass, the hugest string-instrument ever built (about 3.48 meters in length).

In European Area you find a mix of different European cultures, whether is it the modern style of the North, the fiery spirit of the south, the life-style of the west or the rustic-style of the east. You can find here everything from the different European periods. Always a joy are the many antiques-shops, coffee-houses and the cute little streets with the old houses.

Rest of the city:

Just in the Inner-city all the different areas can be found, the rest of the city is a colourful mix of all the cultures and not separated into towns. Forum is a place for communication and getting in touch with other ways of thinking, traditions and people, that's why the concept of the separated towns is just realised in the Inner City as a proud presentation of the own cultures and a place for learning, exploring and understanding. The meaning of Forum is not to separate ethnical groups from others but to connect them.
